If you’ve been following HTM on social media, then you know there have been some big changes over the past two weeks. Now that the dust has settled, we’ll post a bit of a reflection on the move, although the final word will be in a upcoming Ask Darrius episode, so send your questions in to him now (contact form or hit him up on Facebook).
Just HTM things.
Sometime back in March, some disputes came to a head, questionable accusations were made, and HTM was asked to leave the location it was renting in Canoga Park. More details on that in Ask Darrius. We were given until the end of March (and told around, what, the 18th that we needed to go?) but did manage to get some extensions until the end of May. It took a LOT of searching. There weren’t many available units in the type and size range we were looking for. Many that Darrius spoke to weren’t interested in housing a video company. Talent and friends gave us other leads, but most would’ve ended up being shared spaces with their own issues (and on the upper end of the price scale anyway).

As the clock is ticking, we find a place in Chatsworth that seems to fit the bill. There’s a lot of paperwork and communication is spotty at best. They leave us hanging for a few days, and during this time a place in Van Nuys gets back to us that’s actually a better deal (in terms of $$ per SF). After a bit of phone tag, Darrius gets a hold of the Chatsworth place owners and they tell us they’ve decided to rent to someone else. Knowing that three days ago would have been nice! We move ahead with the Van Nuys location and it’s down to the wire. After some tense phone tag, everything is go. With one exception, the current tenants delay as long as possible in moving. This puts us at a day over our time, but Darrius manages to get an extra day at the current place.

During this time, the ring is taken down, things are packed up and organized. Moving day is June 1st. Here are some pics from taking down the ring and the move.

June 2nd. Darrius goes out of town but Rusty is eager to get the ring back up so he can beat some ass. Samantha Grace has also been talking some trash on Twitter, so he has a message for her.
While there are still some things to be planned out, the ring is back up and HTM’s new location is officially Van Nuys in California. We hope to begin shooting and sessions once again ASAP!
